This print writes the question "do I look okay" that people constantly ask themselves, as well as others. We constantly look for approval from others in order to find self-acceptance.
I used the ASL alphabet (American Sign Language) layered on natural floral patterns to communicate inner thoughts. I think of sign language as a silent communicator.

The Spanish phrase "Que Sera, Sera" means, "what will be, will be". We fear the future and regret our past. But the truth is, it is all uncontrollable and unknown.
"When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother, "What will I be?" "Will I be pretty, will I be rich?" Here's what she said to me: "Que será, será. Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see. Que será, será. What will be, will be" - Doris Day

This line drawing is the first pattern I made on Adobe Illustrator. I wanted to make a simple but interesting print. I decided to make a line drawing pattern inspired by the elegance of hands.
A simple line drawing turned into a colourful burst of wackiness. I used bright colours like blue and green for the print and controlling shades for the fingernails.
This childrens pattern is made for Alysha’s childhood friend, Bella. It features their two favorite stuffed toys, Sushi (red bear) and Elle (blue elephant).
